The blender is the definition of a kitchen workhorse. From meals to sauces, a blender is a multipurpose appliance that’s capable of making so many sensational recipes. It can whip up a savory soup or make a mean breakfast smoothie. It even tackles your dips and condiments with ease. Make some room on the kitchen counter and bust out your blender. With these 20 recipes, it’s about to become a permanent countertop fixture.
1. Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie
Morning smoothie or high protein dessert, this satiating smoothie is indulgent and nutritious. With this smoothie, you’ll get plant protein, calcium, and potassium all in one cup. To make it dairy-free, you can skip the milk and use nut milk like cashew or almond milk instead.
2. Frozen Fruit Smoothie
Once the weather warms, I get an insatiable craving for smoothies that only this recipe can cure. It’s got a medley of fruits including blueberries, raspberries, and mango. A heaping of Greek yogurt makes it creamy while apple juice ties it all together. If you find apple juice to be too sweet, you can use any variation of non-dairy milk or even cold water instead.
3. Angel Food Smoothie
You know spring has sprung when this smoothie winds up in my kitchen! A copycat of Smoothie King, this angel food smoothie tastes legit and costs way less to make. I love that it’s super creamy and full of strawberries without being too sweet.
4. Peanut Power Plus Chocolate Smoothie
Another superb way to power your day is with this power plus smoothie. Like the recipe before, this is a Smoothie King copycat recipe that absolutely nails it. The blend of peanut butter, bananas, dates, and almond milk pack in a powerhouse of nutrients. Meanwhile, Hershey’s cocoa makes it a bit more indulgent.
5. Blender Salsa
I love making pico de gallo, but what I don’t love is all the dicing. If you feel the same, say hello to blender salsa. This restaurant-style salsa has a wonderful texture with the flavor to match. You’ll toss fire-roasted tomatoes, green chilies, limes, garlic, onion, and cilantro all into the blender. Then, pulse until you achieve the consistency of your liking. I prefer my salsa without sugar. But if you prefer your salsa sweet, toss in a pinch.
6. Caramel Frappuccino
Save your money and time and whip up your favorite caramel frappuccino at home instead. This copycat recipe is sinfully good and rich in caramel and coffee. A fun recipe hack for this one is to use coffee iced cubes. That way, when the ice melts, it won’t water down your drink like it does when you purchase it from Starbucks.
7. Blender Spaghetti Sauce
Elevate your pasta from good to grand with this homemade blender sauce recipe. This sauce is ripe with fresh tomatoes and gets a little zippy tang from balsamic vinegar. To make it, you’ll toss all your ingredients into the blender until you reach a smooth consistency. Then, simmer it on the stove until warm. If fresh tomatoes aren’t in season, you can use canned tomatoes. Oh, and if you’re fortunate enough to have a Vitamix or blender with a heat function, you can skip the stove entirely.
8. Blender Pancakes
A stack of wholesome blender pancakes is the key to lazy weekend mornings. They’ll fill you up and satisfy your cravings without the weighted-down feeling to come with it. Instead of refined sugar and flour, you’ll use oats and ripe bananas. A couple of eggs will help everything bind, and a dash of maple syrup will make it subtly sweet.
9. Homemade Slushie
Were convenience store slushies one of your favorite goodies as a kid? Bring back fond childhood memories with this frozen treat. These slushies get their cool electrifying color from Kool-Aid powder. Pick your favorite flavor and blend it up with club soda, ice, and sugar.
10. Banana Blender Muffins
Can’t decide how to make your banana muffins? Well guess what, this recipe comes four ways! You make them sweet with mini chocolate chips or opt for crunchy walnuts. If you prefer fruity, go with blueberries or apples and cinnamon. Either way, you’ll want to mix in your choice after blending the muffin batter.
11. Tortilla Blender Soup
You’re just a blend away from whipping up this spicy, mouthwatering soup. This is a quick 10-minute recipe that doesn’t skimp on flavor. The key to getting it just right is using chipotle and cajun spices for seasoning. Of course, you’ll also need some fixings to top it off. Avocado, salsa, cheddar cheese, and tortilla strips are how I like to doctor up my bowl.
12. Spicy Roasted Corn Soup
Another favorite spicy soup of mine is this roasted corn soup. It does require roasting the corn before blending, but this step is super easy. From there, you’ll need to blend and simmer all your ingredients. It’s a bit more involved but totally worth it. It’s super creamy, spicy, and fresh, making it great for summer or even winter. Plus, it uses coconut milk and oil, so it’s vegan, too.
13. Blender Crepes
Getting your batter just right to achieve the perfect light and airy crepe may sound intimidating. But it doesn’t have to be with this recipe. Toss some eggs, flour, sugar, and dairy into the blender. Then, let the blender do its thing until everything is smooth. You’ll need to let this sit in the fridge to thicken, then fire up the griddle and grab your fillings. For breakfast, I prefer savory crepes like smoked salmon and cream cheese. But sweet crepes like strawberries and whipped cream also taste divine.
14. Potato Soup
Looking for an easy blender soup? I’ve got you covered with my personal favorite, potato soup. This vegan soup tastes like the comforts of grandma’s kitchen in a bowl. What’s surprising, though, is how creamy this soup is without any dairy.
15. Blender Hummus
If you’re not making your hummus at home, it’s time to start. Homemade hummus doesn’t have preservatives and tastes better because it’s fresh. However, I’d be lying if I said getting a creamy consistency is super easy. Luckily, this recipe will help keep your blender from struggling. The trick is to preserve the aquafaba, which is the canned chickpea liquid. This helps achieve a smooth consistency without watering down the flavor.
16. Orange Juice
Fresh homemade orange juice is one of those simple pleasures in life. Skipping preservatives and added sugar, you can make this juice in your Vitamix with just oranges and water. If you don’t have a Vitamix, that’s okay. Any brand of blender will work.
17. Blender Pesto
Another common store-bought item that tastes better homemade is pesto. There are many ways to go about it, but this recipe is incredibly fresh. It’s bursting with basil and garlic with the perfect texture to match. I like to slap this on tomato and mozzarella sandwiches and add it to al dente angel hair pasta.
18. Chocolate Blender Pudding
As if pudding wasn’t easy enough, the blender makes it even easier! Besides the ridiculously short prep time, I love how fresh and nutritious this dessert is. Ditching the boxed stuff, it uses whole ingredients like avocados, dates, and bananas. Of course, there’s some cocoa powder thrown in, too. I think you could even use carob powder instead of cocoa and it will still taste just as great.
19. Death By Chocolate Blender Brownies
Holy smoke, these are good! They’re chewy, chocolatey, and fudgy which is precisely what you want from a brownie. But can you believe they’re also dairy-free, gluten-free, and paleo? Now, this is the way to do super-rich chocolate brownies!
20. Milkshake
Milkshakes are the quintessential blender dessert. Toss in some ice cream and milk, and dessert is ready! If you like your milkshake thick and oozing with chocolate, go with this recipe. It gets a double dose of chocolate and a topping of whipped cream. I think the only thing that will make this even better is using chocolate milk instead of plain milk. Click on a star to rate it!
