Beyond that, though, they can run the gamut from somewhat bitter to sugary sweet, mouth-puckering sour to cleanly refreshing. Just as fruits can have a vast multitude of flavors, so, too, can the fruit cocktails you’ll make from them. For this list, I’ve tried to include a little bit of all those different flavors – sweet, sour, bitter, tangy, and refreshing. There’s even a spiced drink or two on the list. That way, no matter what you’re in the mood to drink, you can find a fruit cocktail that suits that craving. Of course, I couldn’t include all the available cocktails made with fruit on the list. Such a list would be almost never-ending, but I did try to pick 25 that I thought most people would enjoy. Check them out, and see if your favorite fruity cocktail made the cut.
Fresh and Delicious Homemade Fruity Cocktail Recipes
1. Pina Colada
Of all the fruit cocktails out there, the pina colada is probably one of the most well-known and famous. It’s also one of the easiest to make, especially using this three-ingredient recipe. All you’ll need to make it are pineapple chunks, white rum, and coconut milk. It’s an icy, creamy, tropical treat that’ll have you dreaming of the ocean after just one sip.
2. Batida de Coco
Here’s another tasty tropical drink that’s sugary sweet and incredibly easy to make. It’s a particular favorite among Brazilians and requires only six ingredients. It’s exceptionally rich and takes only 5 minutes to whip up.
3. Vodka Strawberry Lemonade
If you prefer your cocktails a bit on the tart side, try this recipe for vodka strawberry lemonade. With a three-fourths cup of lemon juice and a pound of strawberries, this is one tart and tangy drink. You’ll also add sugar, vodka, and ice, which will help mellow out the flavor somewhat. Mostly, though, it’s delightfully sour.
4. Mulled Wine
Mulled wine is a holiday favorite in my household, as much for the wonderful way it smells as for how it tastes. It takes about 25 minutes to make, but it’ll make your house smell fantastic! Start with a base of dry red wine. To that, add an orange, whole cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and your favorite sweetener. (I like honey for this recipe.) Let it simmer and strain it into a glass. Add extra sweetener if needed and garnish it however you like. It’s not quite a Christmas miracle, but it is insanely delicious.
5. Strawberry Margarita
This chilled and slushy treat combines the light sweetness of strawberries with the tartness of lime concentrate and strong kicks of tequila and triple sec. It’s one copycat recipe that you won’t want to miss.
6. Honeycrisp Crush
If apples and cinnamon are your jam, this Honeycrisp crush is the cocktail for you. It’s light, sweet, and perfect for fall. You’ll make it with two ounces of vodka, so it isn’t super strong, either, making it an excellent option for nights when you want to join in the fun but don’t want to get drunk.
7. Frozen Banana Daiquiri
Frozen daiquiris are always a cool, refreshing, sweet option for drinks, and these banana-flavored ones are no exception. If you love bananas, they may even become a fast favorite of yours. They’re quick and easy to make, and you can jazz them up with pretty umbrellas, swizzle sticks, and colorful straws.
8. Caramel Apple Sangria
If you enjoy rich, flavorful drinks that taste sweet and not at all like alcohol, then the caramel apple sangria is the drink for you. It’s a quick, four-ingredient drink that you can make in just 10 minutes. All you’ll need is a bottle of white wine, some caramel-flavored vodka, apples, and apple cider. It’s the quintessential fall drink, and it almost tastes like a liquified caramel apple from the fair.
9. Frozen Peach Bellini
If you’re looking for a gorgeous, bubbly drink that’s ideal for brunch, you just can’t beat the peach bellini. It’s fizzy, has such a spectacular taste, and pairs well with most foods.
10. Fresh Pineapple Mojito
I love the clean, refreshing taste of a mojito, but sometimes, you just want something with a bit more fruitiness to it. That’s where the fresh pineapple mojito comes in handy. It has all the yumminess of a mojito with a nice burst of pineapple added in for good measure.
11. Raspberry Peach Mimosas
Peach mimosas are just as flavorful and brunch-appropriate as peach bellinis, though they aren’t quite as chilled and icy. They are, however, unbelievably easy to make. All you’ll need is peach juice, sparkling wine, raspberry liqueur, and sliced raspberries and peaches for garnishes. They’re a lovely color, have just enough bubbles to tickle your nose, and taste light and tartly sweet.
12. Dirty Banana
If you enjoy drinks that are a bit on the decadent side, the dirty banana should hit the spot. It’s cold, chocolatey, banana-flavored, and 100% scrumptious. You’ll make it with vodka, bananas, heavy cream, Coco Lopez, Kahlua, crushed ice, chocolate syrup, and a maraschino cherry. Pro tip: If you want the drink to be as creamy as possible, use a frozen banana instead of a fresh one.
13. Blackberry Rambler
This purple-black drink features plenty of blackberry flavor and tartness from the lemon and orange juices. If you like to taste your alcohol while you drink it, this one’s a good option. The whiskey won’t come through super strong, but it’ll definitely be enough for you to taste.
14. Bourbon Cherry Old Fashioned
This cherry-heavy twist on the traditional old-fashioned gives it a hot pink twist and a nice bump of sweetness. There are also hints of lime and citrus, and there’s a slightly smoky, honeyed taste underneath everything else. It’s an exciting combination of flavors that’ll have you coming back for more.
15. Raspberry Caipirinha
The raspberry caipirinha is a vibrantly reddish-pink drink that’s sure to turn a few heads. Made with cachaca, sugar, raspberries, and half a lime, it’s a ridiculously tart (but tasty) drink. If you’re looking for something fun, fruity, and refreshing that’s just right for summer, give this drink a try.
16. Cherry Moscow Mule
This light, minty drink tastes almost precisely like the original Moscow Mule, but there’s a distinct cherry taste that you can’t ignore. It’s just as easy to make as the original, requiring only five ingredients and 5 minutes to prepare. It’s another drink that’s excellent for the summer months.
17. Mango Passion Fruit Rum Cocktail
If you’re looking for something tropical, tart, and tangy, the mango passion fruit rum cocktail is one recipe that you’ll want to try. It’s exotic fruit at its finest and is a simple drink that pairs passion fruit and mangos with coconut rum, ice, and water. It’s deceptively delectable.
18. Blackberry Lemon Smash
The bright, tart flavor of this cocktail makes it perfect for summer, but its bold, almost bloody red color means it’s a big hit at Halloween parties, as well. It tastes primarily of berries and citrus, and while you can tell the alcohol is there, it fades gently into the background on this one.
19. Cherry Mango Mojito
It’s hard to know what to love most about this yummy, 3-minute drink: its tangy, minty taste or its gorgeous, multi-hued appearance. Both are pretty great, and together, they make this one drink you won’t want to pass up.
20. Kiwi Caipiroska
The kiwi caipiroska tastes a bit like a mojito if you were to add kiwi to it and make it with vodka instead of rum. It has that wonderfully clean, sharp flavor, though the kiwi tones it down some. If you’re looking for a fun, zesty drink to enjoy by the pool this summer, this is the one you’ll want.
21. Blueberry Thyme Crush
This bubbly purple drink is gorgeous to look at, and its flavor is even more impressive. It combines the sweet tanginess of berries with the rich earthiness of thyme. You’d think that combination wouldn’t work together, but it does. In fact, it works so well that this might just become your new favorite summer drink.
22. Mint Grapefruit Mimosas
If you’re looking for something a touch more bittersweet, try these zesty, pink mint grapefruit mimosas. There’s a light sweetness to them, but the bitterness of the grapefruit stands out more strongly. Plus, they’re adorably charming, and there’s a hint of mintiness in each one, as well.
23. Cranberry Hot Toddy
Most of these fruit cocktails have been cold and refreshing, but this cranberry hot toddy is more of a fall or winter drink. It has a delicious assortment of spices in it, and it’s warm and rich. It walks the line between sweet and slightly bitter, but mostly, you’ll taste the complex spices and undertones of bourbon. It’s sure to warm your belly on a cold night.
24. Blueberry Collins
If this drink’s strikingly lovely color isn’t enough to make you want to try it, then maybe the fact that it contains fresh blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, club soda, and gin will do the trick. It’s a relatively strong drink that gives you plenty of berry and citrus yumminess in every sip. It’s icy cold, refreshing, and sweetly tart enough to put a smile on anyone’s face.
25. Watermelon Limeade Cocktails
I’ve yet to meet anyone who doesn’t love these easy-to-make watermelon limeade cocktails. All you’ll need to make them are frozen watermelon chunks, limes, white rum, sugar, and club soda. They’re bubbly, zesty, and have an almost candy-like watermelon flavor to them that’s hard not to love. Plus, you’ll love those watermelon “ice cubes” so much, you’ll want to put them in everything. They may not be creamy or filled with chocolate and ice cream, but these pretty pink drinks are sweet enough to use as a dessert drink for any occasion. Click on a star to rate it!
