We absolutely adore chocolate brownies in our house but we really can’t be trusted with a full batch of brownies! I used to only make a batch for special occasions when they could be shared but that was until I discovered these Air Fryer Brownies!
This small batch brownie recipe makes the perfect amount to share between 2 or 3 people (ok probably only 2 unless you’re really good at self control!). It’s ready in under 30 minutes and is great for those nights when you want something sweet but don’t have anything.
These brownies are soft, chewy and fudgy. They can be made in two mini loaf pans or one regular size loaf pan, depending on what you have on hand and what will fit in your air fryer.
Don’t have any air fryer? No worries! I’ve included oven instructions in the tips section below.

INGREDIENTS
Here’s what you’ll need to make these small batch brownies in the air fryer (full measurements in the recipe card at the bottom of this post)…
ButterWhite SugarBrown Sugar Cocoa PowderVanillaEgg All Purpose / Plain FlourChocolate ChipsOptional - Milk chocolate chunks or chunks of your favourite chocolate bar mixed in for extra chocolate-y goodness.
INSTRUCTIONS
Line 2 mini loaf pans or 1 regular sized loaf pan with baking paper.
Place butter, brown sugar, white sugar and cocoa powder in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 20 second batches, stirring well after each time, until butter is melted and well combined.
Add vanilla and stir to mix through. Set bowl aside for a minute to allow to cool slightly.
Mix in the egg, then add flour and mix well until combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips (and the optional chocolate chunks if using).
Evenly divide the mixture across the prepared mini loaf pans (or just pour into the 1 loaf pan if that’s what you are using), and bake in the air fryer on 160C / 320F for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with only a few fudgy crumbs attached.
Leave the brownie in the loaf pans for 10 minutes to cool, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
TOP TIPS
The chocolate chunks are optional but highly recommended. Grab your favourite chocolate bar and cut into small chunks and fold through. Adds to the chocolate intensity. Feel free to use 2 mini loaf pans or 1 regular loaf pan. It all works as long as it fits in your air fryer.Make these brownies in the oven instead on 160C / 320F for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with only a few fudgy crumbs attached.
