Nothing beats freshly made biscuits right out of the oven. Just imagine cutting your biscuit in half, spreading a dab of butter, and biting into that warm, flaky biscuit. Yum! I love cooking up a batch of biscuits during the weekend. But the leftovers aren’t nearly as good after they’ve been sitting around for a day or two. Luckily, there are a few simple ways to reheat biscuits and restore that fresh right-out-of-the-oven taste, texture, and yummy goodness. This also works if you have leftover biscuits from Red Lobster, KFC, or Popeyes. Make those restaurant-style biscuits taste just like new again! If you’re ready to enjoy some warm biscuits that taste freshly baked, keep on reading!
How to Reheat Biscuits in the Oven
Any cook or kitchen master will tell you that the oven is always the best method for reheating most dishes. This is because heat distributes more evenly in the oven and there’s lots of space for a big batch of biscuits. The oven requires a bit more patience than a microwave or a toaster, but it’s definitely worth it!
How to Reheat Biscuits in the Microwave
The microwave is the quickest way to heat up any leftovers. However, some sites will tell you that reheating dough-based food in the microwave will make them dry and stiff. Don’t worry, there’s actually a hack for this! All you’ll need is a damp paper towel. This will help your biscuits retainer their moisture and flaky goodness.
How to Reheat Biscuits in the Toaster Oven
Another way to reheat your biscuits is by using your toaster oven. This is great for a small batch of biscuits because it’s much quicker than heating with the traditional oven. It also makes your biscuits taste like they’re freshly baked! Follow these steps and you’ll have warm biscuits in less than 10 minutes! Cooking time can vary based on the type of biscuits you’re reheating.
Room Temperature Biscuits – 3 minutesBiscuits From the Refrigerator – 6 to 8 minutesFrozen Biscuits – 15 minutes
Of course, be sure to check on them to make sure they don’t become overcooked or burnt.
How to Reheat Biscuits in a Pan
Here’s another way to reheat a small batch of biscuits as quickly as possible! You’ll be needing a pan, some aluminum foil, and butter. This will take about as much time as heating in a microwave (about 2 minutes) but with a bit more effort. I like to use this method because it’s quick and has almost no effect on the texture of the biscuits. If you don’t have aluminum foil, you can also heat the biscuits unwrapped on a non-stick pan. Just remember to keep the heat on low and flip them every 15 seconds to avoid burning!
How to Reheat Frozen Biscuits
All the methods above are great for heating up biscuits that have been stored in the pantry or in the fridge. But what about frozen biscuits? Well, we’ve got you covered there too! You won’t even need to thaw them overnight. Here’s how.
How to Properly Store Biscuits
Now that you know all the best ways to reheat those delicious biscuits, you might want to start storing more in the pantry, the fridge, or even the freezer! The methods above work great for reheating room temperature biscuits but they might not be enough for biscuits that have gone stale! If you want to keep them fresh and ready for reheating, it’s important to store them properly. To store biscuits in the pantry or fridge, make sure that they’ve cooled down before wrapping them in aluminum foil. Place these wrapped biscuits in a Ziploc freezer bag. You can also keep them in an airtight container lined with a paper towel. I also recommend putting just a few in each resealable bag. That way, you can grab just a few without exposing all of the biscuits to air. Keeping them tightly sealed will help them stay fresh longer. If your biscuits are stored in the pantry, they will last 2 to 4 days. If you need to store them longer, the fridge might be a better option. They will stay fresh for up to 1 week in the refrigerator. To store biscuits in the freezer, you will need to wrap each individual biscuit in saran wrap. This is because frozen biscuits tend to break very easily. You want to wrap them nice and tight. Once you’ve done that, you can place them in a freezer safe bag. Freezing is the best way to store your biscuits long-term, up to 3 months! Click on a star to rate it!
