Spicy Mayonnaise is my all-time favourite dipping sauce. And while this is one of those “not so much a recipe” recipe, I wanted to share it anyway because I actually use it with a lot of my recipes. The best part about this mayonnaise is that you can either make your own homemade immersion blender mayo or a store bought mayo. Either works just fine! I prefer to make small batches fresh when I’m planning to eat it rather than make a whole jar that may go to waste in a weeks time. But if you’ll use it, feel free to double or even triple the recipe!
Why you’ll love this recipe…
So easy! Great as a dipping sauce. Can be made with store bought or homemade ingredients.
Once you’ve tried this you definitely have to try it’s big sister - sriracha aioli! All the creamy spiciness with a touch of garlic.
What is Spicy Mayo Good With?
Fries! Use it as a dipping sauce for French Fries, Sweet Potato Wedges or my favourite - Carrot Fries. Burgers and wraps. Spicy mayo goes so well with chicken! Sushi. You’ll find spicy mayo is served at most sushi stores.
Ingredients
You’re going to need 2 simple ingredients to make your own spicy mayo (full measurements listed in the printable recipe card below)…
Mayonnaise - store bought is fine (try with kewpie mayo if you can get your hands on it) or you can make your own. If you’re wanting to make it yourself try this whole30 mayo - it’s made with an immersion blender and comes together in 2 minutes! Sriracha
How to Make Spicy Mayonnaise
All you need to do is mix mayonnaise and sriracha together in a small bowl until well combined.
How long does homemade spicy mayo last?
I purposely make a small batch so I can use it all up for it’s set purpose, but if you’re going to double or triple the batch it will keep in an airtight jar in the fridge for a few days.
TOP TIPS
Use store bought or homemade mayonnaise - it all works. Play around with the measurements. The recipe as written is on the more mild side, so it’s great if you’re feeding some more spice adverse people (like kids!). But if you love things hot and spicy you might want to up the amount of sriracha. Just give it a taste test and add in more if you’d like. Feel free to double, triple etc the recipe. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days.
USE YOUR MAYO WITH…
Air Fryer Frozen French Fries Sweet Potato Wedges Air Fryer Carrot Fries Grilled Chicken Burger - use instead of sweet chilli mayo!
